Sage Summit 2016: What You Missed…

Aronson Consultant Ruth Montijo recently spent a week at the 2016 Sage Summit. During her time in Chicago, Ruth caught up with clients, colleagues and fellow Sage users. The week-long Summit was packed with product information for the many products Sage sells and supports. Since Aronson is a Business Partner for Sage’s Construction and Real Estate products, that’s where Ruth focused her efforts during the numerous breakout sessions and trade show times. Here are some of the exciting product updates Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate is gearing up for.

  • Changes are ahead for the Sage Desktop Interface with version 16.1.
    • Sage Project Center and Sage Service Operations have been added as viewable tabs with Desktop customization, they are working toward a single sign-on.
  • Cloud connected services are on the way for Sage Service Operations, Sage Paperless, and Sage Project Center.
  • Sage Paperless is adding to its current AP workflow and document routing capabilities.
    • Advanced capture for receipts and eForms is on the way.
    • Document review will occur in the cloud then return to the on premise product.
  • SQL Gateway will replicate within seconds.
  • Mobile Projects tool will extend Job Cost functionality to the field.
  • The Mobile Insights dashboards will have the ability to be emailed and exported to Excel.

Happiness at Work

In a recent blog post, Deb Carpenter Beck, Sage’s Senior Director of Content Marketing, reflected on an article she read about industries with the highest levels of employee happiness. Fast Company Magazine, which featured the piece, put those in the construction industry high on their list.
