Combating Trafficking in Persons Regulations Increase GSA and Other Government Contractors’ Reporting and Compliance Obligations

The FAR Council issued a final rule on January 29, 2015, which increased reporting and compliance obligations for government contractors by amending multiple sections of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to strengthen protections against human trafficking in Federal contracts. The rule implemented Executive Order 13627, “Strengthening Protections Against Trafficking in Persons in Federal Contracts,” and title XVII of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2013.
