Didn’t Pay Your Taxes? Your Company Could Now Be Barred from Contracting with the Federal Government

Under a new final rule that became effective on September 30, 2016, federal agencies can be prohibited from contracting with corporations that have delinquent federal taxes or a recent federal felony conviction. The rule applies to acquisition of both commercial and non-commercial products and services and contains similar certifications for various types of acquisitions. For example, potential contractors offering commercial items will now certify the following under FAR 52.212-3(q):
