DoD’s new interim rule builds from an earlier rule, published in Nov. 2013, by which DoD sought to protect its “unclassified controlled technical information.” The changes expand the types of information that DoD expects its contractors to protect. In addition to what was covered before, the rule now applies also to “critical information” that concerns “operational security,” to information subject to export controls, and to “any other information” that requires safeguarding or dissemination controls pursuant to “law, regulations, and government-wide policies.” As indicated by this last …read more
