GAO Finds Lack of Competition and Pricing Analysis for GSA Contract Orders, Recommends More Training and Guidance for FSS Customers

The Government Accountability Office (GAO) recently published an enlightening report on the Federal Supply Schedules (FSS) program responding to a request from the Senate Government Affairs Committee to examine competition and pricing on FSS orders. The report addressed three factors: (1) how and to what extent the government is using the FSS program to order goods and services; (2) factors influencing the extent of the competition for FSS orders; and (3) the extent to which agencies examine prices to be paid for FSS orders.
