An appropriate response to a negative past performance evaluation is critical in maintaining a contractor’s professional reputation, as these reviews can influence future award decisions, as well as evaluations on other current contracts. Enhanced scrutiny of contractor performance in recent years means these evaluations will become an even more significant component of federal contract award decisions. Effective July 1, 2014, contractors will have only 14 days to submit these crucial responses before the evaluation becomes accessible by all federal procurement professionals.
